Lucy Crewdson
Lucy Crewdson was born and brought up in Edinburgh. After leaving James Gillespie’s High School in the fifties, she spent three years in Jenners, in fashion and advertising, eventually giving it all up for a career as a dancer. She then worked in various companies before marrying in 1969 and settling in London. Since then she has worked steadily at her painting, regularly attending life classes and showing her work at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, the “World of Watercolours” show and various London Galleries. In the year 2000 Lucy retired to Scotland with her husband, exchanging the London suburbs for a gentler life in Galloway. “Dance has always been my passion. Painting will always come second. But I like to think that the rhythm of the first is apparent in the second.” |
